Care and Support - Glebe House Care Home
Contract: Full Time • Salary: £13.55 Per Hour • Shift Type: Days & Nights Available • Contracted hours: 33 hours
Glebe House Care Home is a privately owned residence in East Ayrshire. We provide personalised Nursing and Residential care for up to 46 residents, with a warm, supportive environment where comfort, dignity and wellbeing are central. We hold a carehome.co.uk rating of 9.9 and Care Inspectorate grades of 5, 4, 5, 4, and 4.
You will be a key person in helping us achieve an excellent standard of care for our residents. You’ll be an integral part of the care team to promote the values and ethos of our home.
Responsibilities
* Empower Independence: Help residents with daily routines, promote independence, and encourage positive choices.
* Personalized Care: Follow and support each resident’s care plan with hands‑on help and attentive, individualised care.
* Health and Wellbeing: Monitor residents’ health, communicate concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and assist with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals as needed.
* Champion Dignity: Uphold dignity and respect in every interaction.
* Social Support: Promote social interactions among residents and with staff to create a welcoming environment.
* Safety and Comfort: Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces; respond promptly to emergencies or call bells.
* Nutritional Support: Assist residents with eating and drinking to meet their nutritional needs.
* Spread Smiles: Contribute to residents’ happiness and wellbeing daily.
Qualifications
* Qualifications: SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
* Experience: Ideally at least 6 months as a Care Assistant, though applications from those with transferable skills and a passion for care are welcome.
* Passion: Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and delivering excellent service.
