COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICER
(25 hours PT)
(Currently £30,559 – £33,366 (pro rata part time) subject to experience)
Are you passionate about Engagement and working with the community? Looking for a fresh challenge? Buckhurst Hill Parish Council is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the team in the new role of Community Engagement Officer. BHPC is an ambitious local council serving the residents of Buckhurst Hill in the Epping Forest District of Essex. It has eleven elected Councillors and provides a range of services including three playgrounds, two community halls and Library support services.
The main purpose of the role will be administering the Council’s communication channels and processes, develop the Council’s halls lettings, develop, collate and produce the Parish Council Magazine. Responsible for updating and developing website and Social Media channels. Responsible for the Council’s regular Christmas events and activities, plan, organise, manage Parish Council events, attend and lead event delivery.
* Essential Excellent administration skills gained in a front-facing office environment.
* Experience of dealing with the public.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and keep to deadlines.
* Organised and able to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
* Works methodically ensuring that regular individual and team commitments are met.
* Works well independently but also as part of a small team.
* Considerable experience of social media administration
* Desirable Local knowledge of the Buckhurst Hill area.
