Health and Safety Manager

Yolk Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of a Health and Safety Manager based in Bridgwater. In this senior role, you will take ownership of health, safety, and environmental management across a busy manufacturing site. You'll have the opportunity to lead safety initiatives, influence the safety culture, ensure compliance with regulations, and work closely with the senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities
3. Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all manufacturing operations.
4. Manage high-risk activities, machinery safety compliance, and contractor safety.
5. Conduct risk assessments, develop safe systems of work, and create RAMS.
6. Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
7. Analyse HSE data and report on measurable improvements.
8. Deliver training programs to ensure workforce competence and regulatory compliance.
9. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and external contractors to maintain safe working practices.
Skills & Experience
10. Proven Health & Safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
11. Experience in food or medical manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
12. Strong risk management, accident prevention, and safety culture expertise.
13. Competent in RAMS, machinery safety, PPE compliance, and contractor management.
14. Ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective improvements.
15. Relevant qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, PUWER, or environmental training) desirable.
