ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to the personal care needs, this role requires Female Carers in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
The carer will work morning, day, night and weekend shifts. You will be required to provide high-quality professional care and support to Service Users in their own homes. You will assist with meal preparations, medication administration, personal care, supporting with medical appointments, social activities and cleaning.
The roles and responsibilities include (but not limited) to:
* Ensure Service Users are at the heart of care delivery, and that their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
* To support Service Users with all aspects of their day-to-day living i.e meal preparations, medication administration, enabling them to enjoy the best possible quality of life
* Supporting with Personal care, showering and bathing.
* To support and enable Service Users to maintain skills and personal interests, whilst delivering person-centred care that is unique to each Service User
* To maintain skills at a relevant level, undertaking training and development as required from time-to-time to maintain and progress knowledge
* To always display compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring attitude.
* Ensure Care Plans and other information about how to support Service Users are adhered to
* Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
Person Specific Qualities requirements
* This role does not offer access to a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS), as it is a bank staff position requiring 20 hours per week.
* Car Driver (Essential)
* Good English – Both Written and Verbal
* Has the ability to rapport with people by establishing personal connections and showing interest in their lives
* Understands person-centred care and can demonstrate treating people as individuals and respecting choices
* Strives for quality and recognise and understand what quality in care means for people using the services
* Understands the importance of empathy in all areas of employment and treats people with kindness
* Maintains an adaptable and is open to acquiring new skills and knowledge
