Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their busy team on a temporary basis for 6 months Hybrid working Available South East London Duties include; Process high volume end‑to‑end monthly payroll for academic, professional services and casual staff Calculate salaries, overtime, enhancements, allowances and back pay Process leavers, starters, contract changes and salary amendments accurately and on time Administer Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) and/or Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), including enrolments, opt‑outs and contributions Manage statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, PAYE, NI, RTI submissions (FPS/EPS) and year‑end processing Input, validate and maintain payroll data across HR/Payroll systems Carry out payroll reconciliations, variance checks and control reports Support system upgrades, testing (UAT) and legislative changes Act as first‑line contact for payroll and pension queries from employees and managers Resolve complex pay issues escalated from the wider payroll team Liaise with HR, Finance, Pensions providers and external auditors Produce payroll, pension and statutory reports for Finance and senior stakeholders Maintain payroll procedures and documentation in line with audit requirements Identify process improvements and support automation and efficiency initiatives If you have experience of ...
