The Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to provide full-time cover from January through to July 2026.
You will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop strong literacy skills, confidence in analysis, and a genuine appreciation for language and literature.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively
* Create and adapt schemes of work and teaching resources
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice
* Support extracurricular activities, including clubs, trips, or school productions where possible
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A relevant degree in English or a related subject
* Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* A genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
* Enthusiasm for inspiring and motivating young learners
