Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Location: Crewe, Cheshire
Hourly Rate: £19.68 PAYE / £25.02 Umbrella = £38,000 gross per annum
Shifts: 08:00am -16.30pm Mon-Thurs (Flexibility to work shifts) 08:00am - 12.15pm Friday

Client Summary:
Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance
Position Summary:
* Perform, participate to inspections of products (Customer joint inspections included if applicable).
* Manage problem solving.
* Records inspection results in the industrial tools as required & performed follow-up.
* Perform first characterization & manage NCR's for non-compliant products for internal responsibility.
* Perform first characterization & manage Supplier NCR's
* Have ability to accept or reject products as defined in the working instructions / Expert support.
* Generate Control Plans as required
* Support Concession process as required
Shop Floor:
* Develop specifications in partnership with outside tooling/equipment/material manufacturers and make recommendations for procurement.
* Co-ordinate the receipt, response and monitoring of concerns raised at the customer.
* Ensuring containment action is taken and root cause analysis and permanent long- term actions are implemented.
* Carry out technical investigations into performance, equipment design, planning methods, layout proposals, labour requirements, equipment capability to maintain quality and cost.
* Support manufacturing teams regarding the self-inspection, delegation of control (Training, audit, …) & Position Quality Animation with EPU manager.
* Provide technical support to production staff.
Person Profile/Experience:
- Strong experience in a quality/manufacturing environment, ideally in a similar role.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP).
- Good knowledge of problem solving tools and product specification.
- Strong background in Practical Problem Solving and Route Cause Analysis.
- Previous experience in coordination small teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Ideally HNC qualified or apprenticeship to HNC level supported by strong practical experience.
