Design and Technology Teacher to train through Open University – Ysgol Bro Hyddgen
This is an opportunity to train as a secondary teacher through the PGCE FULLY FUNDED at the Open University (2 year programme).
The school offers a unique opportunity for an individual to study a PGCE programme (QTS) through an employment-based programme (2 years) which is fully funded by the Welsh Government through the provision of the Open University. The program offers a two-year employment agreement within the school where you will then train while working. The school is fully committed to supporting the Welsh Government's campaign to widen access to teaching and to diversify the profession.
The programme is aimed at graduates who want to change careers or graduates who have experience of working in an environment with children and young people. This may include teaching assistants, learning coaches or youth officers who want to advance in their career. Applications are also welcome from applicants who are in their final year at university.
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to train with experienced and innovative staff at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen on the Open University's PGCE programme. The school has a unique community and a family and Welsh feel where there is a close relationship of trust, care and respect between young people and staff. There is a strong element of collaboration and ready support amongst the staff team, where all members of staff understand how crucial their role is in the success and wellbeing of our children, young people, and each other as professional adults.
