Overview

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated (Senior) .NET Integration Developer to join their growing healthcare technology division. This role focuses on building secure, reliable integrations for Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems that enable seamless data exchange across the healthcare ecosystem.

You’ll work within a collaborative, forward-thinking team, using modern .NET technologies to deliver solutions that improve healthcare outcomes. This is a remote position based in the UK, with occasional travel to regional offices for team sessions and project delivery.


Responsibilities

Design and Implementation

* Develop and implement .NET-based integration services and APIs connecting EPR platforms with internal and third-party systems.
* Contribute to the design and development of core product functionality, including UI, ensuring accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
* Create shared components, patterns, and documentation to promote reusability and consistency.
* Build and manage message flows using HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR (R4/R5) standards.

Integration and Interoperability

* Integrate with NHS systems such as Spine, MESH, GP Connect, eRS, and PDS/SDS using secure, standards-based protocols.
* Implement event-driven architectures (e.g., Azure Service Bus, queues, topics, webhooks) ensuring resilience and scalability.
* Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and observability.
* Ensure high standards of performance, scalability, and security (OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, JWT).
* Maintain documentation and compliance evidence for audit and regulatory purposes.

Collaboration and Support

* Work closely with project managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and client technical teams.
* Support testing phases and contribute to go-live planning.
* Provide third-line technical support for live integrations.
* Lead design reviews and mentor junior developers.
* Establish engineering standards and promote best practices across integration projects.


Requirements

* Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, REST APIs).
* Proficient in SQL and database performance tuning.
* Hands‑on experience with Azure (or AWS equivalents).
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
* Understanding of secure integration practices (TLS/mTLS, secrets management).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into clear business insights.
* Organised, proactive, and quality‑driven, with a focus on clinical safety and compliance.
* Experience leading designs and guiding engineering teams across multiple integration projects.
* Experience with interface engines (e.g., Mirth, Rhapsody, IRIS Health Connect).
* Knowledge of API design standards, SMART on FHIR, or GraphQL.
* Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and NHS clinical safety standards (DCB0129/DCB0160).
* Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Jira, Confluence).
