Job Summary
Assistant Psychologist to join the Mental Health team at HMP Fosse Way, a category C prison in Glen Parva.
Hours & Salary
Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600 or 0830 - 1630. Full‑time employment with an annual salary of £31,000.
Support & Development
Bespoke induction, including the Introducing Health in Justice training course; competency framework; regional and national career development opportunities; bespoke Learning Management System; and support from the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and enhance professional psychological care of patients across all pathways.
* Provide psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and develop formulations to support multidisciplinary team members.
* Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention, triage, and prioritise according to clinical need, risk, and release planning.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 2 years Assistant Psychologist experience within a secure or forensic setting.
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
* Evidence of foundation training in at least one evidence‑based psychological framework (e.g. CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT).
* Experience working with mental health forensic populations.
* Experience providing evidence‑based psychological interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems.
* Legal right to work in the UK.
