Advert Text An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Passenger Attendant within Merton. Are you reliable, calm and caring? Do you understand the needs of children / adults with special needs? Can you spare 20 hours per week to provide an invaluable service to our customers? If so, this opportunity could be for you! About The Role Our Passenger Attendants ensure and maintain safety and aid our community transporting service users. They provide an excellent service to our customers whilst they are transported between their homes and schools, colleges, day centres and residential homes, assisting and encouraging passengers to regain and maintain their mobility and independence. Many of our users have special needs so you will have a calm and caring approach with the ability to assist passengers on and off vehicles and to their destination. Due to the nature of the role an enhanced criminal records check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be required. The hours for this role may vary but are generally 2 hours in the mornings and 2 hours in the afternoons, totalling approximately 20 hours per week. Flexibility is crucial as you may work on a number of routes that have different start and finish times. About You You will be flexible and reliable with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with parents / guardians, staff and passengers of the service. You will be always tactful and professional whilst maintaining user confidentiality and understanding all health and safety aspects relating to passenger safety on vehicles.
