Penguin Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading environmental consultancy, currently seeking an experienced Air Quality Consultant to join their growing team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and technically skilled professional to contribute to meaningful projects that shape healthier, more sustainable environments across infrastructure, transport, urban development, and industry.
The Role
As an Air Quality Consultant, you will be based in Bristol, working as part of a multidisciplinary environmental team. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality assessments, preparing clear and concise environmental reports, and liaising with both clients and regulators. You will play a pivotal role in helping projects meet environmental regulations and achieve air quality targets. This position offers hybrid working, with strong support from colleagues locally in Bristol as well as across the wider UK network.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake air quality assessments for planning and permitting, including dispersion modelling (ADMS, AERMOD).
Produce detailed technical reports for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and planning applications.
Conduct air quality monitoring, data collection, and analysis.
Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
Support project management, ensuring timely delivery and budget control.
Keep up to date with UK air quality policy, legislation, and best practice guidance.
About You
Degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
2-5 years experience in an Air Quality Consultant or similar role.
Strong working knowledge of dispersion modelling software (ADMS, AERMOD, Breeze).
Familiarity with IAQM, LAQM TG(22), and EPUK/IAQM planning guidance.
Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
Full UK driving licence (desirable).
