Salary: £9,600 - 10,200 per year Requirements: We require extensive experience designing secure, large-scale networking solutions, including Cisco Routing & Switching, DMVPN, IPSEC, MPLS, and VMware NSX. We require proven ability to develop complex system architectures, with a focus on virtualization and secure connectivity. We require strong understanding of routing protocols including OSPF and BGP, SD-WAN, and cloud integrations such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. We require experience reviewing engineering designs, implementing security best practices, and working within MOD and UK Defence environments. We prefer professional certifications such as Cisco CCIE, CCDP, CCNP, VMware VCP-NV, or VCDX. We value knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, security standards, and network automation principles. We prefer familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket. You must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process. Responsibilities: We act as the primary point of contact for network architecture and design, collaborating with programme, project, and engineering teams to ensure coherence across systems. We support the creation, review, and assurance of high and low-level network designs, ensuring alignment with vendor best practices, MOD security policies, and Defence Digital standards. We lead design reviews, challenge technical decisions, and ensure solutions meet security, performance, and operational requirements. We liaise with external stakeholders and wider defence digital organisations to deliver end-to-end solutions within time, cost, and quality parameters. We identify capability gaps, recommend improvements, and support continuous enhancement of network architectures. We ensure all designs adhere to security principles such as Secure by Design, Zero Trust, and Data Centric Security.
