Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Salary: From £34,796.66 per year + opportunities for overtime
About the Role
Join NY Highways Property as part of our dedicated Property Services team. You’ll work on a mix of capital projects and responsive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. From emergency repairs to planned upgrades, your work will help keep essential infrastructure running smoothly across North Yorkshire.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality plumbing and heating services while ensuring safety and compliance at every step.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Installing and repairing plumbing and heating systems across commercial sites
* Responding to emergency callouts and participating in our out-of-hours rota
* Supporting capital projects and planned maintenance programmes
* Using and maintaining tools and equipment safely, including mobile towers and low-level access gear
* Collaborating with supervisors and stakeholders to ensure efficient job completion
* Contributing to project planning, including risk assessments and method statements
* Mentoring apprentices and junior staff
* Reporting progress using handheld devices and ensuring compliance with regulations
What We’re Looking For
* NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent experience)
* CSCS Gold Card
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Experience in plumbing and heating installations and repairs
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good communication skills
* Willingness to work outdoors in all weather
* Flexibility to travel across the county and participate in on-call rota
* Enhanced DBS check (Children’s Barred List)
