Job Description
This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your main responsibility will be to develop mechatronic systems that improve the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on designing, developing, and optimizing technical solutions to challenging problems. Your work will significantly contribute to our competitiveness and innovation in motorsports.
What You’ll Do
1. Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
2. Create detailed system architectures and specifications to meet or exceed requirements.
3. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
4. Liaise with external suppliers, evaluate components, and select appropriate technologies.
5. Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality and performance.
6. Oversee the delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, and software integration.
7. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 5+ years of relevant experience with a proven record of successful solutions.
* Strong understanding of multidisciplinary system design, mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
* Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
* Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
* Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
* Master’s degree in related fields.
* Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
* Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink and advanced CAD skills.
* Deep knowledge of control systems and theory.
