The Role
Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across secondary schools in Liverpool. This role is ideal for a confident professional who can support learning, deliver pre-planned lessons and work closely with teachers to raise student attainment.
You will play a key role in supporting pupils across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science and PSHE, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilitie
1. Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
2. Support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4
3. Work with individuals and small groups to support progress
4. Assist with assessment, behaviour management and classroom organisation
5. Support pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
6. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Person Specification
Essential:
7. HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
8. Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
9. Strong behaviour management and communication skills
10. Ability to work independently and use initiative
11. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Desirable:
12. Experience supporting GCSE subjects
13. Knowledge of SEND or intervention strategies
14. Confidence delivering lessons to whole classes
