YouSeq is an exciting biotechnology company that designs & develops qPCR & NGS testing kits, used in labs and hospitals around the world to help fight COVID19, cancer and many other diseases.
We are looking for an ambitious scientist to join our qPCR R&D team as a hands-on Research Scientist II. The successful candidate will be able to lead their own projects, to develop new products and implement new PCR technologies. This role is crucial to ensure YouSeq products represent best in class molecular diagnostics.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD or 3-5 years of laboratory experience and a strong understanding of PCR. They must have hands on experience with molecular biology techniques including qPCR testing. Important traits are to be ambitious, motivated, strong interpersonal skills and to thrive in a collaborative environment.
The role:
* Daily planning, conducting & analysing real-time PCR experiments
* Managing and prioritising multiple work packages, to deliver finished projects i.e. new qPCR products/optimisations
* Cross-departmental communication to support Operations & Commercial teams
* Providing scientific technical support to our customers
* Working within ISO13485 requirements & systems
Essential:
· A PhD or 2-4 years in molecular biology lab setting
· A minimum of 2 years industry experience within a biotech company
· Strong knowledge of qPCR and hands-on experience in qPCR testing & instrumentation
· Excellent organisational & interpersonal skills
Desirable:
· Experience of working in ISO13485 manufacturing environment
· Experience of project management in an R&D setting
· Experience in organic chemistry
