Carmichael UK is recruiting an experienced Agent with a strong structures background to support delivery on a major HS2 infrastructure package in Buckinghamshire.
This role offers the opportunity to take a lead position on complex structural works as part of one of the UK’s most significant rail projects, working within an established and highly experienced delivery team.
The Role
As Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of structural works on site, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, and aligned with programme and quality requirements.
You will work closely with engineers, subcontractors, and senior management to drive progress across reinforced concrete and structural elements, maintaining high standards across health, safety, quality, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
Managing structural works including reinforced concrete, formwork, and associated civils
Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors
Overseeing programme delivery and short-term planning
Ensuring works are delivered in line with design, specifications, and quality standards
Managing permits, temporary works, and method statements
Maintaining strong health, safety, and environmental compliance
Liaising with engineering, design, and commercial teams
Supporting reporting and progress updates to senior management
About You
Proven experience as an Agent or Senior Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong background in structures (RC frames, bridges, viaducts, or similar)
Experience on rail, highways, or large infrastructure schemes preferred
SMSTS and CSCS essential
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proactive, organised, and delivery-focused
