MacKenzie King are recruiting a Financial Controller for a well-established business that delivers innovative and award-winning specialist products to the market, based in Woolpit. This is a newly created Financial Controller role and will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. As Financial Controller you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, manage the accounting operations, and provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth. You will lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory compliance.

Key tasks and responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis

* Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP (local reporting) and IFRS (group reporting).

* Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Accounting Operations
*
\t
* Oversee all operational accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
\t
* Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes and systems.
\t
* Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
\t
* Maintain, develop and enforce internal controls.
Budgeting & Forecasting
*
\t
* Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
\t
* Lead the annual budgeting process and develop accurate financial forecasts.
\t
* Monitor budget performance and provide regular variance analysis.
\t
* Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage departmental budgets.
Team Management
*

* Lead, mentor, and develop the operational accounting team.
\t
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
\t
* Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement
*
\t
* Identify, evaluate and enhance key processes, especially where automation would create efficiencies and improve accuracy.
\t
* Implement and manage financial software and tools.
\t
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Cash Management
*

* Monitor and manage the company's cash flow.
\t
* Optimise working capital and ensure adequate liquidity.
\t
* Manage banking relationships.
Qualifications and experience

Experience Required:
*

* Working towards or qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
\t
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
\t
* Strong Excel knowledge.
\t
* Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
