This role sits within the PDR IT department, data & analytics section. The focus of this role is to outline, build, test and deploy robust and scalable data engineering solutions. This role reports into the Head of Data & Analytics.
Responsibilities
* Understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions following outlined architecture
* Build, test and deploy data pipelines & other data solutions
* Design and develop analytical models within cloud data warehouse
* Develop and update technical documentation
* Monitor, troubleshoot and support existing solutions to ensure data integrity and availability
* Support team members through knowledge sharing
* Communicate with non-technical audiences to understand business processes and requirements to support design and testing
* Report any weakness or breach identified within the Company’s information systems or services (even if only suspected)
* Maintain health and safety of yourself, colleagues, guests and visitors; report concerns and cooperate with management to comply with safety and safeguarding accountabilities
Skills & Experience
* Experience in building datasets (Snowflake) including large complex data
* Understanding and experience of data pipeline development and ETL framework and tools (Matillion, Informatica, SSIS etc.)
* Experience working with custom data connectors, such as APIs or SaaS providers (Salesforce, etc.)
* Knowledge of data modelling for analytic datasets
* Advanced SQL skills
* Experience of working within cloud computing platforms (Azure preferred)
* Knowledge of data engineering principles
* Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Fabric)
* Ability to work independently as well as part of the team and be innovative
* Analytical mind with a problem‑solving aptitude
* Good communicator and able to deliver insight to technical and non‑technical audiences
* Knowledge of Jira/Azure DevOps
