Graduate Planner – Cheltenham
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Salary: £24,000–£28,000 (DOE) + benefits

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for shaping the places where we live, work and play? We’re working with a respected planning consultancy based in the heart of Cheltenham, looking to add a motivated Graduate Planner to their growing team.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting chance to kick-start your career in town planning within a collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects — from residential and commercial developments to rural and regeneration schemes — working alongside experienced planners who will mentor you as you work towards Chartered RTPI status.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
2. Conducting site appraisals, policy reviews, and planning research
3. Supporting senior team members in preparing development plan representations
4. Liaising with local authorities, clients, and other consultants
5. Preparing planning statements, reports, and design and access statements
About You
We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and curious, with a genuine interest in planning and the built environment. You’ll be a recent graduate (or due to graduate soon) with a relevant degree such as:
6. Town / Urban Planning
7. Geography
8. Environmental Planning
9. Architecture or a related discipline
Other key qualities include:
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills
11. Attention to detail and analytical thinking
12. A positive attitude and willingness to learn
13. Ideally, some work experience or a placement within a planning or property environment
