About this Role: Experienced / ambitious Project Manager required by the Southampton office of this busy main contractor, initially to work with the preconstruction team on one of several large framework tenders for the region; These include a higher education, secondary education and defence schemes all in the south of Hampshire. Typical values of project range from £30m to £70m Reporting to Construction Director and working closely with the Preconstruction team, you will be responsible for the buildability, logistics, planning and strategic input to tenders alongside the Bid Manager, Design Manager, Planner and Estimator; Attending client interviews and presentations; Continuing this input with the team through second stage preconstruction phase to commencement on site. Once on site, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the construction phase on site, including planning and programming of works, methodology, leadership of your project team, health and safety, quality control, input to procurement, identifying and mitigating potential risks, issue resolution, and ensuring ultimate completion of the scheme on specification, programme and budget. Previous experience of delivering new build education or defence schemes with a Tier 1 main contractor through preconstruction onwards is highly desirable for this role. This role will suit an experienced / ambitious Project Manager potentially looking to gain more understanding of the bid and preconstruction phase to compliment existing site based project delivery experience. About the Company This role is with the busy regional office of a Southern office of a national main contractor group, with a turnover in excess of £150m, and secured workload in the secondary and higher education, defence, commercial, leisure and healthcare sectors in the Hampshire and Dorset areas. The main contractor is a Tier1, so the role will require an appreciation and adherence to the company processes and procedures, with keen focus on health and safety, quality assurance, coordination of works and reporting on progress. Projects typically range in size from £30m to £70m in value. The business will also undertake larger schemes in the highlighted sectors up to £40m in value. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced PM looking to work regionally and develop into a Senior Project Manager role. Requirements including certificates and qualifications: You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record within an established main contracting organisation, demonstrating the ability to deliver D&B schemes up to £25m.
