Your Responsibilities
As a Design Manager, you'll have the chance to work on a diverse range of projects in the Education, Healthcare, MOD, and MOJ sectors, with project values ranging from £20m to £80m .
Your day-to-day activities will include:
* Managing and delivering design information according to the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule.
* Ensuring our appointed design consultants fulfill their duties, while rigorously checking their returns for compliance with standards and briefs.
* Providing design input during both the preconstruction and construction stages of projects.
* Assessing, mitigating, and managing design-related risks, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards like BREEAM, and industry codes of practice.
* Producing design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
* Recording progress and conducting upline reporting.
* Attending and chairing necessary meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensuring that designs comply with relevant legislation and technical requirements.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment or architectural practice, particularly on large-scale construction projects.
* A relevant construction qualification (Degree / HND or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, etc.
* Experience with BIM Level 2 projects.
