An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Surgery Directorate for a Service Manager covering St Richards and Worthing Hospitals
This role will support the Directorate and Divisional senior management team through the co-ordination of performance monitoring, clinical governance reporting, project work, and with gathering relevant information / production of reports as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be directly responsible for supporting and co- coordinating others to deliver timely and effective business support across for the Directorate, which will require strong planning, prioritising, administrative and organisational skills. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and improving the overall management of administrative services for the Directorate and for the day to day line management of our managers, leads and administration staff, ensuring all statutory and mandatory training requirements and appraisals are maintained.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria.
The role will involve directly managing our Directorate Support Managers in a range of duties including operational management of the services pathways and patient flow, ensuring that administrative processes across the Directorate are coordinated and managed in order to deliver both governance and performance functions and an overall efficient service for all users.

Essential criteria
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
2. Experience of managing performance activities in an NHS organisation
3. Experience of managing people
4. Experience of IT systems
5. Experience of training and coaching staff
Desirable criteria
6. Project Management Qualification
7. Knowledge of NHS national targets including RTT and elective pathways
8. Experiencing managing rotas and complex schedules
