Day Shift Mechanical Engineer – Stirling, Scotland
We are recruiting for a Day Shift Mechanical Engineer at our Stirling site (Superglass). This is a hands‑on, predominantly planned maintenance role within a close‑knit engineering team on a manufacturing site. The successful candidate will carry out routine and reactive mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment including conveyor systems, bearings, gearboxes and other rotating equipment.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and preventative mechanical maintenance across production plant and building services.
* Support the reactive maintenance team with breakdowns when required.
* Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations, including completing risk assessments.
* Support installations and commissioning of new equipment.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen and 5S to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
* Proven mechanical engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
* Strong skills in maintaining plant equipment including conveyors, rotating machinery, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
* Process oriented, self‑directed and autonomous, with the ability to work as part of a greater team.
* Excellent communication skills and computer literacy (MS Word, Excel).
