Lead Project Planner – Rail Infrastructure

Manchester Square One (with travel to York, min. 3 days per week)

We are seeking a Lead Project Planner to support the
Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU)
– the UK's largest rail upgrade, transforming the 76-mile route between York and Manchester.
Role Overview:
* Lead planning and scheduling across a complex, multi-disciplinary rail programme.
* Provide clear planning outputs and simplify schedules for reporting.
* Support stakeholder engagement and ensure access/delivery requirements are embedded.
* Mentor and lead planning teams.
Essential Experience:
* Proven success in planning/delivering major construction or engineering projects.
* Strong skills in proprietary scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6).
* Experience in resource management and interpreting railway access plans.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Network Rail processes and the UK rail industry.
* A-level or equivalent in mathematics or IT-related subject.
Base:
Manchester/York (min. 3 days on site), with travel to Leeds and Huddersfield as required.
