Medical Secretary – Part Time
Location: Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU
Contract: Permanent part‑time (7.5 hours per week), Monday 10 am – 6 pm.
Salary: £7,500 per year.
Job Description
Provide secretarial expertise to consultants, prioritising their workload and ensuring a high quality of service to patients, staff, and consultant users.
Role Overview
As the Medical Secretary you will support customer‑facing colleagues in delivering exceptional standards of customer service and patient care, ensuring confidential, GDPR‑compliant handling of information.
What You’ll Do
* File all correspondence, test results, and referral letters into patient notes before returning to medical records.
* Receive telephone messages and relevant queries; send and receive faxed messages and relay promptly to the concerned doctor; request patient information from outside organisations.
* Promote good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organisations to uphold the reputation of the OPD Secretariat and the hospital.
* Coordinate with appropriate departments such as pathology, radiology, medical records, outpatient reception, and the appointments office.
What You’ll Bring
* Previous experience as a Secretary within the Private Healthcare sector.
* Good communication skills.
* Good telephone manner.
* Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
* Knowledge of GDPR and a high standard of confidentiality at all times.
