We are currently looking for an enthusiastic driven capable Assistant Transport Manager to join our busy depot.
The depot runs multiple trucks of different types with customers of all sizes. We are looking for a dynamic operator who thrives with challenge, who can manage supervisors and drivers with change and adapt to customer requests and requirements.

About the Role
What will I be doing?
1. To support the Senior Service Delivery Manager in the management of operational staff and process to achieve or exceed agreed service levels.
2. Working within the limits of the budget and allocated headcount.
3. Helping staff to reach their full potential either through formal training or coaching. You will be required to carry out investigations that may lead to disciplinary action, and you may be required to chair disciplinary hearings.
4. You will also have involvement in the recruitment, induction and training of new staff.
5. You will be responsible for ensuring that the depot KPIs are met and exceeded, ensuring vehicles and personnel are deployed to the most efficient means.
6. Data accuracy is critical in ensuring that KPI and SLA targets are met.
7. You will need to be able to strategically examine the depots performance matrices and support the team with implementing plans to bring about improvements in efficiency and deliver growth.
8. You will also support in sourcing cost effective disposal outlets and help the depot reduce costs where possible.
9. Customers are at the heart of our business, you will be responsible for supporting the Service Delivery team meet customer demands and respond to customer enquiries in a timely manner.
10. You will visit customers to ensure that we are offering the most effective service for them and resolving any operational issues that may arise.
What are the Requirements?
11. Transport Managers CPC is essential
12. You must previous experience in the Waste sector
13. You will have a deep knowledge of Logistics in the Waste Industry
14. You should be able to make decisions quickly and spot and challenge errors or outliers in large data sets.
15. Strong people management and stakeholder management skills
16. Experience in running multiple vehicles with high volume would be advantageous
17. You should have a knowledge of fleet management systems and routing programmes as well as excellent Microsoft suite knowledge.
18. IOSH
19. NEBOSH is desirable.
