Service Desk Analyst
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum
We are recruiting for a Service Desk Analyst to join the internal IT team of a well‑established UK engineering and technology business, based in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being user‑facing but also wants hands‑on technical exposure beyond a standard first‑line service desk. You'll be the first point of contact for IT support while also gaining involvement in infrastructure, security, and project work.
The Role
As a Service Desk Analyst, you will provide first‑line IT support to users across the business, ensuring incidents and service requests are logged, managed, and resolved in line with agreed SLAs. You'll also support a range of operational and project‑based activities, working closely with the wider IT team.
You will be seen as the face of IT, dealing with users at all levels and helping to deliver a consistently high level of service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first‑line support for hardware, software, telephony (fixed and mobile), and network connectivity
Log, manage, and progress incidents and service requests via the service desk system
Support desktop PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices across multiple sites
Build, configure, and provision equipment for new starters
Assist with Active Directory and Office 365 administration
Support VPN access, mobile email, and remote/home workers
Contribute to infrastructure and cyber‑security related projects
Document and maintain helpdesk procedures and processes
Train and support users during inductions and ongoing use of systems
Identify recurring issues and help resolve problems at source
Manage small pieces of project work as required
What We're Looking For
Experience in a Service Desk, IT Support, or similar first‑line role
A logical, problem‑solving mindset and the ability to work calmly under pressure
Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
A genuine eagerness to learn and develop an IT career
Comfortable working in a busy, SLA‑driven environment
Proactive attitude with a desire to improve processes and ways of working
