CTVC is looking for 2 x Assistant Producers (APs) to work on a new series of BBC Live Lessons. The APs will support producers in developing and scripting engaging live lesson content across various subjects and key stages.
These shows will be shot across the UK (some live, some pre-recorded). The role is based out of our Manchester office, with some travel to locations in the UK as required.
Start date: week commencing 4th August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Producer in developing and scripting engaging Live Lesson content across subject areas and key stages.
* Research curriculum topics, find relevant experts, contributors, and schools, and brief participants in line with BBC standards.
* Write scripts, contributor questions, and voiceover guides; assist with graphics briefs and interactive elements.
* Help with planning, logistics, and scheduling of filming days, rehearsals, and live broadcasts.
* Assist in directing contributors and talent in studio or on location, including child participants.
* Clear rights and permissions for music, images, and archive content in accordance with BBC compliance and legal frameworks.
* Liaise with digital and interactive teams to ensure delivery of content downloads and companion materials.
* Provide live support during broadcasts, including audience engagement, cue management, and social moderation.
* Log rushes and support editing processes as needed.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Proven experience as an Assistant Producer or strong Researcher in live, studio, or factual/children’s content.
* Strong research skills with attention to editorial detail and fact-checking.
* Excellent scripting and storytelling skills for young audiences.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and support live studio operations.
* Confident in communicating with teachers, parents, children, and educational contributors.
* Understanding of safeguarding practices and BBC editorial policy when working with under-18s.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Adobe Creative Suite skills are a plus.
