Join Our Team as a Product Compliance Engineer – EU Drinking Water Directive – Ensure Excellence Across EMEAA Water Brands We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Product Compliance Engineer – EU Drinking Water Directive to join our EMEAA Compliance & Test team on a Fixed-Term Contract until February 2027. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring all EMEAA Water products meet the requirements of the upcoming EU Drinking Water Directive. You will collaborate closely with design teams, suppliers, and certification bodies, becoming the subject matter expert and driving compliance excellence across our product portfolio. What You Will Be Responsible For:• Develop and maintain in-depth expertise on the EU Drinking Water Directive and its implementing acts.• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure up-to-date knowledge is shared with stakeholders.• Communicate requirements to key stakeholders, suppliers, and design teams, providing guidance and training where needed.• Review wetted parts information from design teams and suppliers, ensuring compliance and identifying necessary changes.• Work with raw material manufacturers to obtain compliance information and documentation.• Compile wetted parts information for third-party submissions, including risk grouping and supporting documentation.• Arrange and coordinate third-party testing, evaluation, and certification—including completing applications, obtaining quotes, placing purchase orders, and managing queries.• Calculate and track costs related to testing and certification activities.• Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, QA, and SQA teams to ensure compliant materials are used and evidence is obtained and maintained.• Work with certifiers and suppliers to arrange and participate in factory audits as required.• Prepare EU Declarations of Conformity and determine product marking requirements.• Raise and progress engineering change requests for product markings, collaborating across teams to implement them effectively. What You Are Already Great At:• A degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent qualification).• Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering/product compliance, including European water approvals and legislation review.• Ability to read and interpret product design drawings and technical documentation, with strong materials knowledge.• Confident knowledge of product compliance regulations and standards.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused approach.• Strong communication skills, able to present and translate technical data into decision-ready insights.• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.• Passion for learning and adopting new technologies, with a proactive, independent mindset.• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Qualifications/Experience:• Experience working with European product compliance or water approvals processes.• Familiarity with materials risk grouping and related compliance methodologies.• Experience in managing compliance documentation, including Declarations of Conformity.
