We’re looking for a *hands-on, skilled Plant & Hire Equipment Technician* to join our *Inverness team*, playing a key role in keeping our hire fleet safe, maintained, and ready when our customers need it most.
*The Role*
You’ll be at the heart of our operation — making sure equipment is serviced, repaired, and ready to go.
*What you’ll be doing:*
* Servicing, maintaining and preparing plant and hire equipment
* Inspecting, testing and repairing returned hire equipment
* Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs
* Completing pre-hire and post-hire inspections to ensure safety standards are met
* Working closely with the Parts team to source required components
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
* Setting up and operating equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines
* Accurately completing job records, service sheets and timesheets
* Ensuring equipment is cleaned, checked and ready for the next hire
* Supporting the wider team to maximise equipment availability
* Participating in a *1 in 4 weekend on-call rota* to support customer needs
*What We’re Looking For*
We’re looking for someone practical, reliable and proud of the work they do.
*You’ll ideally have:*
* Experience as a plant technician, mechanical technician, agricultural mechanic, small engine mechanic or similar
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* A high level of attention to detail and quality
* A hands-on, can-do approach
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience with *plant, groundcare, agricultural, automotive or small engine equipment* is all relevant — if you’ve worked with machinery, we want to hear from you.
