Due to our reputation of working in a safe, cost effective and collaborative manner, we are repeatedly invited to participate in early contract involvement and value engineering solutions.The RoleThis is a part-time (2 days per week), temporary position for up to 12 months providing public liaison for on-going highways civil engineering around Nelson, Brierfield and Colne in Lancashire. The remuneration package will depend on experience and will include a workplace pension, together with accident and life cover after a successful probationary period. The successful individual will also be provided with 35 days holidays (pro rata) for the leave year - sufficient days will need to be saved for the Christmas shutdown.Key responsibilities of the role and the day-to-day tasks and duties of the role:Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholdersWork with Lancashire County Council PR and Communications regarding updates for members of the public and local businessesLiaise with members of the public and local businesses both remotely (emails/phone etc) and face to face to keep them informed of on-going workSupport and coordinate with schools regarding visits to the schemeAttend public events regarding the schemeA driving licence and your own vehicle is required as there will be some travel to sites involved.Essential SkillsExperience in public, community or stakeholder engagementApproachable, positive and skilled at building relationships with a wide range of peopleGood MS Office/ computer skillsGood team playerAbility to work under own initiativeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFull UK driving licenceBenefits:Company pensionFree on-site parkingLicence/Certification:Driving Licence (required)
