Job Description Summary The Manufacturing Engineering Development Leader role is a fundamental part of the "3Ps" Organisational strategy and sits within our Power Manufacturing Engineering team, being accountable for ensuring Manufacturing Process & NPI Programs are delivered into production successfully, and in accordance with strict aerospace regulations. The Power Manufacturing Engineering Team consists of both Military and Civil Power portfolios, with an emerging Business Jet portfolio. This role will initially be scoped around two development/NPI programs: one with a long-established commercial customer, and one with a new business jet customer. This is a role with high change, particularly when the NPI programs transfer into rate production, so the candidate should be very comfortable working within a dynamic scope. The Leader will, ultimately, ensure that the Manufacturing Engineering team have clearly defined standards (SOPs) and operate in accordance with aerospace standards. The leader will deliver strategies in accordance with AS9100 regulations, notably within the fields of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), First Article Inspection (FAI), Process/Product Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), among others. This is a technical role, with alignment to the GE Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Controlled Title Holder (CTH) pathway, and a people-leader role. The development team is a mix of permanent and contractor Manufacturing Engineers, with both central and program funded roles, meaning the size of the team can fluctuate between 3-10 Manufacturing Engineers. Job Description Responsibilities: Accountable for the "Product Strategy" of the organisation. Development of the overall Manufacturing Strategy. Development of current ME standards and procedures in accordance with this strategy. Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Development programs into production in accordance with Tollgate/MRL/PRR processes. Responsible for ensuring the safe operations of the Power ME Team. Responsible for ensuring Manufacturing Engineering requirements are delivered in accordance with regulatory standards, to cost, and aligned with the core competencies of the Value-Stream. Generation and maintenance of an APQP roadmap. Ownership of Process FMEA maintenance. Authority over the approvals of critical Engineering Changes for Manufacturing Engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and/or strong background in Electromechanical Manufacturing. ?Strong background in Quality Engineering in a Manufacturing Setting.
