Job Overview
UHBW is seeking a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty in complex trauma and limb reconstruction. This role involves joining the expanding Limb Reconstruction team at Southmead Hospital, supporting tertiary referral services across the South West of England and beyond, recognized as a Centre of Excellence.
Responsibilities
* Conduct general and fracture/acute clinics, including Virtual Fracture Clinic commitments.
* Participate in ward rounds, supervise junior staff, and provide on-ward teaching.
* Engage in trauma lists, elective surgeries, and on-call duties, including 1 in 12 weekend shifts with flexible scheduling due to rota reorganization.
Team and Service Details
The limb reconstruction team comprises two dedicated surgeons working closely with plastic surgical colleagues at Southmead Hospital. The service offers supra-regional tertiary referrals for limb reconstruction, complex trauma, infection, non-union, deformity correction, and limb lengthening.
