Overview
Quality Conformance Engineer
Location: Broughton (on-site requirement)
Contract Duration: Until 31 December 2026 (with potential for extension)
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, 4.5 days between 7am-7pm (hours agreed at business discretion)
Pay Rate: £31.90 per hour (Umbrella) / £23.84 per hour (PAYE)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Responsibilities
* Ensure full quality industrialisation of major modifications and developments, supporting serial manufacture and rate ramp-up.
* Prioritise Production Organisation Approvals (POA) activities to maintain a high level of product safety.
* Provide quality input into risk, multi-function, planning, and stakeholder reviews.
* Apply and deploy Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and quality standards.
* Support and facilitate Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) in design, process, and machinery.
* Create and update control plans to incorporate modifications as required.
* Plan and execute Production Process Verification (PPV) to validate all routings.
* Lead cost of non-quality forecasting and support mitigation activities.
* Provide lineside support for local test campaigns and manufacturing during Start of Production (SoP) phases.
* Support the cascade of Key Characteristics (KC) and Critical Items (CTI) from design and manufacturing engineering functions.
* Support APQP activities, including decision trees, applicability matrices, and key business deliverable assessments.
Candidate Profile
* Experience in a quality engineering or conformance role within aerospace, aeronautical, or automotive industries.
* Strong understanding of APQP, FMEA, and quality standards.
* Experience is valued over formal qualifications.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Information
Standard day shift initially; candidates should be open to possible shift changes in the future.
Overtime is paid at a premium rate (25% Mon-Fri, 50% Sat-Sun) for hours worked over 35 per week.
