Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English literature and language, with the ability to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and department initiatives.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning.
* Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and activities.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational best practices and developments.
* Work confidently with Key Stage 3-5 pupils.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in English or a related field.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
* Current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
* Experience teaching English at the GCSE and A-Level.
* Familiarity with the latest educational technology and methods.
* Enthusiasm for extracurricular activities, particularly in literature and the arts.
* Be able to deliver Art & Design in a fun and engaging way that students can relate to.
