Role Overview
An organisation operating within a secure public-sector environment is seeking Desktop Technicians to support a short-term technology refresh programme based onsite in Wales.
This is a static, hands-on role focused on laptop build, configuration, and secure decommissioning activities. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to documented processes, and experience working in controlled or regulated IT environments.
Key Responsibilities Build and configure laptops to defined organisational standards
Decommission legacy laptops in line with secure data handling and disposal procedures
Accurately record devices built and decommissioned
Follow established IT processes and security policies
Work collaboratively as part of an onsite technical team
Required Skills & Experience Previous experience in a desktop support, build, or deployment role
Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems
Experience following structured IT processes
Comfortable working in an onsite-only environment
Ability to work within security-cleared settings
Desirable:
Process management experience
Basic knowledge of SQLite
