A Mental Health School in Newbury is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support vulnerable students aged 4 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience working with young people facing various challenges, ideal for those aspiring to become child counsellors.
Responsibilities:
1. Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and mental health challenges.
2. Help identify and address learning barriers, build self-esteem, social skills, and emotional resilience.
3. Implement positive behaviour strategies in collaboration with teachers and therapy teams.
4. Provide pastoral care and motivate students to make appropriate choices.
