Software Development Team Lead

Salary: £65,000.00 per annum
Role Overview
The RSC is looking for a Software Development Team Leader on a permanent full‑time basis. The role will be contractually based at the Cambridge office but offers hybrid working with the expectation of attending office and traveling as needed.
As a Team Lead you will shape the software architecture, oversee implementation, and steer the technical aspects of the product roadmap. You will collaborate closely with Solutions Architects, other Team Leaders, and cross‑functional technical staff to deliver high‑quality, maintainable, secure, and performant solutions.
Responsibilities
* Shape software architecture and detail configuration and implementation throughout the development lifecycle.
* Lead a cross‑functional team of back‑end (.NET C#), front‑end (HTML/CSS/JS/Vue.js), test automation engineers and site‑reliability engineers (AWS).
* Guide agile workstream members in technical implementation, assign and ensure quality delivery of backlog items, and take ownership of technical changes and releases.
* Line‑manage a small number of developers and coordinate with other teams and architects to align on a shared architectural repository.
* Ensure continuous delivery, continuous testing, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices are applied.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge and experience of full‑stack development life cycles with .NET C# back‑end and HTML/CSS/JS/Vue.js front‑end.
* Experience with DevOps best practices, such as continuous delivery, continuous testing, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
* Hands‑on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms and cloud architecture principles.
* Experience working within Agile practices, particularly Scrum and Kanban.
* People‑management experience including delivery quality, workloads, and personal development.
