Job Description
Our client, a successful head office retailer based in Liverpool, is seeking an experienced Logistics/Shipping Accounts Manager. The role involves managing the day-to-day accounting and controls of shipping, arranging movement of goods and import shipments, and ensuring compliance with UK import regulations. The position also includes working within the Accounts Team, mainly in purchasing and expenses.
Principal Accountabilities
* Verify and calculate the final cost for imported goods and local purchases
* Process invoices, reconcile delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
* Liaise with freight agents and courier companies for quotes, queries, and issues related to shipments
* Obtain and compare quotes to ensure best service and rates
* Classify goods and apply correct customs procedure codes
* Maintain HMRC records
* Generate shipping documentation following regulations
* Monitor shipments for on-time delivery
* Keep records and systems updated
* Liaise with internal departments to control goods and services for shipment
* Stay updated on customs control regimes
* Verify shipping invoices for payment
* Perform monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
* Code, batch, and match invoices for financial reporting
* Support department/business with ad hoc duties
Key Performance Indicators
* Response time to suppliers and internal partners
* Percentage of shipping deadlines met
* Accuracy of costing sheets
This is a full-time salaried role, working Monday to Friday, 38.75 hours per week. Working hours can be 8:00-16:30, 8:30-17:00, or 9:00-17:30, with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break. Staff discount of 20% after one month of service. Holidays total 28 days per annum, including bank holidays.
