Technical Operator

We’re recruiting for a skilled and proactive Technical Operator to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business.
Operating on a PM shift (2pm–10pm), this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being hands-on with both production and machinery.
As a Technical Operator, you’ll act as the vital link between production and engineering, ensuring that machinery runs efficiently and any technical issues are quickly addressed. You'll support production targets while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities of the Technical Operator:
* Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure smooth and efficient running
* Carry out basic mechanical adjustments and first-line maintenance tasks
* Act as a bridge between the production and engineering teams, reporting faults and supporting timely resolutions
* Conduct regular checks to ensure product quality and compliance with safety standards
* Support changeovers and ensure minimal downtime between runs
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on site
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Technical Operator or similar role in a food or FMCG environment
* Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence in operating production equipment
* Good understanding of health & safety and food safety standards
* Ability to identify faults and support engineering teams in root cause analysis
* A team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
