I am a good laugh to be around and am very good company. I enjoy gaming, cars and would like to try and get out into the community more often to undertake social activities or exercise. I also enjoy shopping for food even though I am very fussy with what I eat. I was born at 25 weeks, and this caused some complications. I have a hydrocephalus shunt due to excess fluid in the brain and have cerebral palsy which results in my left side being weak and me wearing a splint, although I can take this on and off when required. I have a visual impairment which results in no peripheral vision, but I can see and wear glasses. I also am diagnosed with ASD. PURPOSE OF JOB I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community and take part in activities with support. This will allow me to integrate socially, build independence and form a relationship outside of my family. HOURS OF WORK I have 8 hours per week available. Ideally one shift in the week and one at the weekend/every other weekend but there is some flexibility. RATES OF PAY £17 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Taking me to the gym or swimming for physical activity. Going to car shows or car museums. Going out for food or a drink. Supervising me at a gaming group such as D&D or the geek retreat. Potentially going food shopping to the specific shops I like. Helping me to develop social skills and interact with others. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED A car driver with business class insurance. A non-smoker. A kind and friendly person. Someone who is punctual and reliable. Someone willing to build up a relationship with me. Someone with some flexibility to how and when they work. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
