Location:Based onsite at Bristol Central Library and required to travel to and work at other libraries as and when required

As ourLibrary Technology Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the vital IT systems that underpin Bristol’s Library Service. You’ll provide first-line technical support to library staff, help implement system upgrades, and liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure our technology runs smoothly and securely.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting staff with the Library Management System and other IT tools.
* Assisting with upgrades and developments to library systems.
* Acting as a contact point for Libraries West and other technology providers.
* Helping manage devices like laptops, tablets, and kiosks.
* Contributing to training and creating user guides for staff.
* Supporting performance monitoring through data and statistics.
You’ll Need:

* Experience in ICT support and using tools like Microsoft 365.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience working in frontline library services.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A willingness to travel across the city to all our library sites

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:
* Experience setting up hardware and general-purpose software.
* Knowledge of library management systems.
* A relevant IT qualification.
This post is based at Bristol Central Library but may occasionally work at different locations across the city. This role is not flexible or suitable for home or hybrid working as it is required to be physically present in libraries.
