Position: General Driver/Grounds Operative
Contract Type: Temporary
Start Date: November 26, 2025
End Date: February 3, 2026
Location: Heywood (Just a 5-minute walk from Heywood Train Station! 🚉)
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and safe yard by engaging in litter picking, weed removal, and leaf clearance. 🍂
Perform strimming and hedging to keep access routes clear and accessible.
Apply grit during colder months to ensure safety and prevent slips. ❄️
Conduct daily inspections, reporting any health and safety concerns.
Safely handle deliveries, including unloading and storing items with a forklift truck. 📦
Monitor skips, wheelie bin stock, and damaged bins to ensure timely actions are taken.
Wash and maintain sweepers, checking brush wear for replacements.
Ensure signage is visible and in excellent condition.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
Forklift Truck licence and experience are preferred. 🚜
LGV licence is desirable but not essential.
Previous experience in yard or depot operations is a plus.
Strong awareness of health and safety practises.
Personal Attributes:
Reliable and punctual-your team counts on you! ⏰
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Physically fit and ready for manual tasks-every day is an adventure! 💪
