Overview

As our SEO & GEO Copywriter you will be responsible for transforming the Superdrug.com eCommerce experience by levelling up our site copy. This spans our FAQ, Product, Category, Landing pages as well as reinvigorating the Superdrug Blog as a space to educate our customers on trends, our range and great beauty tips and advice.


Responsibilities

Leading the SEO strategy for our online business, creating plans with technical teams, .com trading team, buying teams, own brand teams and suppliers. Share, educate and introduce best practice across internal Online Business and Supplier teams to improve our ranking for searches in SERPs and offsite AI recommendation tools. Ensure we have guidelines and roadmaps for improvements; report to senior management on progress and highlight blockers. Own keyword research, metadata, internal linking frameworks, and measurement. Track Boots, Amazon, LookFantastic, Sephora, etc.; identify gaps and new keyword/category opportunities. Monitor algorithm updates and SERP changes; recommend mitigations. Align SEO data with onsite search; influence taxonomy to reflect how customers search. Own dashboards, weekly KPIs, monthly performance readouts; communicate actions to Trading, Marketing, UX, SLT. Act as internal expert; train teams on SEO best practice; represent SEO in planning and design reviews. Create a culture where the customer is always considered first and monitor data to deliver new and innovative ways of working to improve service. Build and deliver a strategy that listens and exceeds our customers\' expectations. Empower teams to make decisions that delight the customer and adapt the strategy to changing customer demands.

Report on performance on traditional Search Engines and AI recommendation tools; develop actionable plans to optimise. Plan, develop and implement a content calendar for Superdrug\'s blog by working with the Insights and Digital Marketing team to identify emerging trends. Stay up to date with external developments and opportunities across SEM. Share knowledge internally to support development of Digital Marketing strategy and stay ahead of the competition. Use commercial awareness to identify opportunities and threats in the market through research and analysis. Consider the impact of Online and Offline Lead and transform the Marketing team to have a customer-first mindset for our O+O platform to build customer loyalty. Be the voice of customers and orchestrate the organisation to live the brand purpose and inspire a customer-first culture to build customer love in every touchpoint of our O+O platform. Inspire and empower teams to work cross-functionally, encourage collaboration, and create opportunities for others to grow; foster diverse teams and share learnings.

Be able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and groups outside of your own department on complex topics with little guidance. Confidently manage complex or sensitive conversations with wellbeing considerations. Make data-driven decisions, involve relevant stakeholders to drive change and improvements with little guidance. Assess situation complexity and choose actions to simplify and clarify for others. Use technology to reduce complexity; blend data from multiple sources into insights; influence and challenge others to take risks backed by analysis. Empower the team to take ownership and responsibility for finding solutions, including driving simplicity through technology. Guide when to use AI versus human judgment, and how to combine both. Create an environment to rethink how work gets done and shift work from repetitive tasks to higher-value activities as AI takes on routine work. Build your team\'s AI confidence and focus on outcomes, not just time or volume. Make experimentation safe and foster an environment where failures can be shared and concerns raised without fear. Strengthen the human touch by balancing AI efficiency with coaching, empathy, and team cohesion.


Qualifications

* 5+ years SEO in retail/ecommerce; strong technical SEO and content optimisation
* Proven delivery with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, UX)
* Ideally experience in a fast-paced retail head office
* Tooling: GSC, GA/Looker, Screaming Frog, SEMrush/Similarweb, schema validators
* Clear communicator; data-driven; able to influence and educate stakeholders
* Strong IT skills - MS Office, Excel
* Knowledge of Hybris ideal but not essential; Google Analytics A
* Hands-on, get stuck in, approach
* Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to problem-solve; authentic networker and collaborator
