Senior Governance Officer Location: Disbury, Manchester Salary: £39,249 You’ll provide effective and confidential support to the Board and Committees, Executive Team; Directors and wider Senior Leadership Team as well as managing the Governance Officers. What you’ll be doing * Providing effective day to day management of the Governance Officers and ensuring close links with the Executive Support Team for the support to CEO and Executive Team. * Working closely with the Head of Governance to develop and maintain a strong system of corporate governance, including forward planning and ensuring compliance with the Code of Governance and all relevant policies. * Attending meetings and taking accurate notes and minutes, maintaining decision monitors and action monitors as required, ensuring that they are dispatched to agreed deadlines after the meeting and are followed up and reported on in a timely manner. This will include Board and Committee meetings; with the role having specific responsibility for at least two committees. * Acting as a key point of contact for the Board and Committee Members, Executive and Directors, triaging enquiries and providing initial responses; escalating issues and complaints and responding as required to ensure the effective flow of information to internal and external stakeholders. What you’ll need * Significant experience of working in a corporate support environment with senior stakeholders. Experience of this in the housing/social housing sector is desirable but not essential. * Significant experience of minute-taking and meeting management. * Excellent use of the full range of Microsoft Office * Ability to work flexibly, including some evening meetings, and to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure and with conflicting deadlines. * Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative * Ability to work with a high level of tact, diplomacy and discretion when working with sensitive information. * Ability to work positively with staff and other stakeholders, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, information sharing and issue resolution.
