 
        
        GP Clinical Lead – Harewood Medical Practice, Catterick Garrison
Location: Harewood Medical Practice, 42 Richmond Road, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3JD, United Kingdom.
Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced GP Clinical Lead to head an enthusiastic, highly motivated team at Harewood Medical Practice. The role supports the delivery of comprehensive primary care services for the military, civilian and family populations of the largest UK garrison. The practice is part of Heartbeat Primary Care CIC, a community interest company that manages 16 GP practices in the region.
Working Hours: 25 hours per week – Monday & Tuesday patient‑facing clinical work, Thursday focused on clinical leadership and management. Permanent part‑time contract.
Clinical Team: 4 salaried GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, plus First Contact Practitioners for Physiotherapy and Mental Health.
Key dates: First interviews – 17 November 2025; Second interviews – 24 November 2025.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead the delivery of safe, effective clinical services at Harewood Medical Practice.
 * Provide clinical decision‑making, risk management and quality improvement leadership.
 * Support staff development, oversee governance and prepare for CQC inspections.
 * Provide patient consultations, develop care plans and prescribe medicines.
 * Contribute to audits, training and compliance with professional standards.
 * Engage in lifelong learning and participate in practice improvement initiatives.
 * Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Deputy Clinical Lead to manage performance and service delivery.
 * Build relationships with external healthcare providers, local authorities and stakeholders.
 * Write and review clinical policies and support staff in professional development.
 * Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and facilitate CQC readiness.
Qualifications
 * MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
 * Full registration with GMC.
 * Certification of Completion of Training (JCPTGP/PMETB).
 * Inclusion on the Performers List.
 * Desirable: MRCGP.
Essential Experience and Skills
 * Experience working in primary care with a multidisciplinary team.
 * Audit and quality improvement experience in a GP setting.
 * Evidence of continuous professional development.
 * Clinical leadership experience.
 * Excellent communication, time‑management and organisational skills.
 * Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
 * Full clean driving licence.
