Overview
Change Grow Live (CGL) is a substance misuse charity with a whole-person approach to care. This role is for a Substance Misuse Nurse in Birmingham, onsite only. The team is multidisciplinary and includes service managers, consultant psychiatrists, healthcare professionals, nurses, recovery staff, volunteers, and peer mentors. This is an opportunity for an energetic and passionate Nurse to help shape the provision of clinical services to individuals affected by drugs and alcohol. On-call responsibilities are part of the role and on-call duties are remunerated separately in accordance with organisational policy.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services
* Appropriate signposting/referral to primary care or secondary health care services for identified health issues
* Providing education, health promotion and screening for blood borne viruses (BBV)
* Providing Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated
* Contributing to CGL’s Naloxone Strategy
* Ensuring procedures are regularly reviewed to promote best practice and evidence-based practice in accordance with UK Guidelines on Clinical Management, NICE guidance, and CGL clinical protocols and procedures
* Providing harm reduction advice to injecting service users, providing information and equipment and ensuring all equipment is disposed of safely
* Recording and inputting client data and information

* Location: Birmingham (fully on-site; remote or hybrid not available)
* Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
* Contract Type: Permanent
* Full-time hours are 37.5 per week; part-time roles pro rata based on contracted hours
* On-Call: Part of the consultant on-call rota for the inpatient unit; on-call duties remunerated as per policy
