STAFF NURSES - RAMPTON HOSPITAL
£38,049-£44,796 per annum (inclusive of high secure allowance)
Rampton Hospital is one of three high secure hospitals in England and Wales, with three national services. We are seeking to recruit Registered Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses who can start in January 2026 to join our multi-disciplinary teams within the hospital, offering assessment, risk management, care and treatment to aid recovery and step down to lesser conditions of security. This role is in High Secure Forensics.

Responsibilities
* Plan, implement, promote and evaluate safe, creative and effective treatment plans in collaboration with patients, their carers and other professionals
* Provide evidence-based interventions designed to reduce stress and anxiety, manage risk and aid recovery
* Maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical records (written and computerised) and ensure safe custody of healthcare records
* Administer and monitor medications in line with Trust policy
* Apply Infection Prevention and Control principles and comply with policy, procedure and guidance
* Obtain and interpret physical healthcare observations
* Demonstrate and apply up-to-date legislation including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty safeguards and safeguarding principles
Please note: DBS checks are required. The cost (£26.40 standard or £54.40 enhanced) is deducted from salary over the first two months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol in the DBS Update Service (annual fee £16).
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential
* Maintains current registration with the NMC
* Professional qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/General) to degree level or equivalent
* Demonstrable knowledge of Rampton Hospital and High Secure Forensics, current legislation, and clinical risk assessments
* Ability to work as part of a team; good written and oral communication; flexible and able to handle conflict; IT skills
* Willingness to undertake new clinical practices and education to enhance service delivery
* Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise appropriate to banding
Desirable
* Continued professional development to maintain registration
* Specialist and area-specific experience; awareness of national/local issues impacting nursing care
Other requirements
* Ability to work unsocial hours and bank holidays as needed
* Able to undertake training in violence reduction and perform full range of nursing duties
